Our Family Law Clinic is designed to assist people who are facing, or are experiencing Family Law matters and who require some advice and assistance to help them move forward.

The clinic is designed to assist people who require general and non-specific legal advice about their family law matter (entitlements, rights and responsibilities), but who are unable to access private legal representation, which can be prohibitively expensive for many.

At present, our appointments are 45 minutes in duration and give you a chance to discuss your situation with our experienced Family Lawyer, who will assist you in working out how best to proceed with your matter, and provide you with resources to assist you if and where possible.

Our clinics run once per month in Ellenbrook, and are open to residents of Ellenbrook and surrounding areas. Bookings can be made using the form on this page.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide specific or formal legal advice on matter such as Binding Financial Agreements or Child Support Agreements during these sessions due to their complexity and the rules surrounding those issues.

We are also unfortunately unable to provide specific legal advice with respect to ongoing or complex matters before the Court, as to do so properly would require us to review all filed materials prior to meeting with you which we simply don’t have the time to do. In these situations, we will provide you with general and procedural advice, and work to try and refer to you a service that is able to assist you.

If we have already been consulted by the other party in your matter, then we will be conflicted out of being able to assist you. We appreciate your understanding if this situation arises, and we will try and refer to you to someone who can help.

Please ensure that you bring any documents which are relevant to your matter. However, we ask that you bear in mind that our lawyer may not have time to review all documents provided given the duration of the appointments.

Examples of documents that may be relevant, are any letters or communications received from the other party or Court documents or orders.

If we determine that your matter has urgency, or that there is a need to take immediate steps to preserve your rights, then we may be able to offer fixed fee packages to undertake that work on a limited basis (you only pay for what you need).

We can also refer you to other free legal services, including Legal Aid and community legal centers for further complimentary or subsidised assistance.

If you require a one-off follow up appointment (at our reduced rate of $150 plus GST), we ask that you book that appointment through our friendly reception on 08 9325 4988 and mention that you are an existing family law clinic patron to access this special reduced rate.
